Humidity problem at sports centre to be tackled

Granadilla de Abona council, through the Department of Works headed by Concepción Cabrera Venero, has awarded the project to refurbish the municipal sports pavilion with the aim of solving the problem of humidity in these facilities during the winter.

The budget to undertake this action is 47,799.40 euros and is expected to start in the coming days.

According to Concepción Cabrera explains, this space needs an improvement that avoids rainwater runoff on the façade, and give asolution to leaks and subsequent humidities. “These are facilities that host during the year many activities and large events, not only municipal and local sports schools, but initiatives and competitions nationally and internationally, so that the reform will also give better image and well-being to visitors and those who make use of it,” the coun-cillor explained. The works will consist of waterproofing and placement of steps and pavement, among other works. Thee work is being down in the quieter period so it is completed before the winter.
