Home owners put in ten per cent for refurbishments
Santa Cruz has approved a five million euro plan for housing refurbishment which will benefit more than 500 families.
The work will be carried out in the five districts of Santa María del Mar, Miramar, La Victoria, La Salud and García Escáme.
In total, 414 houses will be involved.
The Mayor, José Manuel Bermúdez stressed the importance of rehabilitating homes thanks to this type of initiative “which involves the realisation of works that increase the quality of life of many families in the municipality, as well as granting more security to buildings over a certain age.”
The approved works are in Santa María del Mar, with 68 interventions and 935,000 euros, Miramar, with 138 homes and 1.8 million investment; La Salud, with 42 homes and 577,500 euros; La Victoria, with 60 homes and 339,000 euros, and García Escámez, with 106 homes and 1.45 million euros.
The 5.2 million euros required to execute all of these works will be financed by the Ministry of Develop-ment (35%), the Government of the Canary Islands (22.35%), the City Council of Santa Cruz de Tenerife (19.45% ), the Island Cabildo de Tenerife (13.20%) and the individual owners of each house (10%).
