Craft fair pays homage to Valle Gran Rey
The XXXII edition of the Craft Fair of Pinolere, to be held between September 1st and 3rd in La Orotava, once again pays tribute to the traditions of the municipalities of the islands as it has for five years.
On this occasion, the very popular event recognises the traditions of Valle Gran Rey in La Gomera.
The Mayor of La Orotava, Francisco Linares, and the manager of the Pinolere Cultural Association, Jesús García, received the Mayor of Valle Gran Rey, Ángel Piñero, who visited the town to discuss various aspects of the project. During the celebration of the fair, the tribute ceremony will take place on Saturday, September 2nd.
The Pinolere Cultural Association has been paying such tributes since 2012, starting with the municipality of Candelaria in Tenerife with the presence of the collective Los Guanches de Candelaria and its recreation of the appearance of the Virgin.
Further tributes included to Teror in Gran Canaria, Agaete, also in Gran Canaria, Fuencaliente in La Palma and La Guancha with the recreation of the Bajada de Las Haya.
The homage ceremony on September 2nd will start at 11am and will include folk music and dancing, as well as a procession.
It will be centred around the Ramo or bouquet which is made up of fruits, flowers and vegetables.
