Council to enhance park área for Las Vegas
Granadilla de Abona council is to acquire a plot of land of 18,205 square metres in Las Vegas, in the middle of the municipality, in order to expand the ‘Pino de Las Jabas’ recreation area.
It will also provide information offices, parking areas and services.
The Mayor, José Domingo Regalado, said the idea was to make it a municipal park with better facilities and a parking area for buses.
Councillor for patrimony, Fredi Oramas Chávez said the project would cost around 23,000 euros.
“It aims to bring value to this area of Las Vegas, a unique spot and used daily by wal-kers and visitors in general,” he said.
Las Vegas is a historic hamlet where the first colonisers of southern Tenerife settled, after the conquests of the island, and it has a great relevance from the ethnographic, environmental and heritage point of view.
