Praise for teenage baseball star
A teenager from Granadilla has been hailed as a shining example as he continues sporing success in the world of baseball.
Jorge Luis Franco is still only 15 but is already part of the team of the Spanish Baseball Selection.
He was called up this year by the sub-15s to play the Europeo de Austria and also was invited by the Academia Bravos de Atlanta in Puerto de la Cruz.
In addition, in 2016 he was champion of Spain in the under-16s and since 2013, has been with the Panthers team of Granadilla; played in the Liga Big Show and in 2015 began with the Marlins of Tenerife.
Deputy sports mayor, Sara Cano highlighted his career which began at municipality level and had continued to reap success year after year.
She congratulated Jorge, saying he was an example of sportsmanship and effort for all young people of his age who practise some form of sport.
