Costa Adeje celebrates “Miss Sur” contest with “Miss North” next
Costa Adeje celebrated the sixth edition of the Miss Sur event, which began its journey in 2012.
The spectacular show was directed by Sandro Pérgola and lasted two hours.
The parade of the 24 candidates for the title was interspersed with various performances, including those of Adolfo Canela, the Academy of Dance Sígueme, Fernando Santana and Shay Ramsá and Davinia Gloria.
The winner was Carolina Oramas who represented CC Gran Sur who now looks forward to a year of possibilities in the world of fashion, image and communication.
José Miguel Rodríguez Fraga, Mayor of Adeje, and Sandro Pérgola, promoter of the event, have shown that “Miss Sur” is not a simple contest of conventional beauty.
“It is an element of cohesion and encounter in the tourist south and of great cultural development,” said a spokesman for the organisers.
In recent years, the most powerful companies in the region have been actively involved, as well as all the councils in the south: Adeje, Arona, Santiago del Teide, Granadilla de Abona, San Miguel de Abona, Fasnia, Güimar, Arafo, Arico and Candelaria.
This is undoubtedly a unique event, and this time, with its transfer to the coast, it has had a completely new design and another dimension. The main theme of Miss Sur 2017 and the advertising campaign has revolved around environmental edu-cation and respect for nature, with emphasis on the sea.
The marine environment and healthy living has always been supported by Adeje council.
The competition’s own candidates showed all these aspects through various promotional videos of Costa Adeje, which were broadcast over the course of the night and were shown the following week on television.
The organisation is already working on the Miss North contest, which will take place in October in Santa Úrsula.
