Brewing company opens new room for craft beer tastings

The company Jaira has inaugurated the first tasting room for craft beer of Gran Canaria, solely dedicated to the local product.

It will also offer training and gastronomic routes, an initiative recognised by the president of the Cabildo of Gran Canaria, Antonio Morales, during the inauguration with Jaira boss, Aday Araña.

Jaira was formed last year with the aim of contributing a new product to the island market and brews its beers with a completely handcrafted procedure. The focus is on taste, texture, smell, colour and temperature without the use of any chemical ingredient, filter or pasteurising the drink.

Jaira plans to market three limited editions in the coming months.

The company currently has five varieties, produces more than 13,000 cases per year and distributes in more than 300 establishments in Gran Canaria and Tenerife.

The tasting room features a mural by the Canary artist Óscar Lorenzo and will be one of the points to be visited by the groups during the gastronomic routes from the end of this summer.
