Arona is taking additional steps to ensure the quality and safety of the bathing waters of its beaches.

The Mayor, José Julián Mena, explained that Arona “wants to anticipate any situation similar to that which has been generated in some other municipalities of the island and continue to guarantee the highest quality of our bathing points.”

Sampling for the analysis of water in the main beaches of the municipality will increase from twice a month to twice a week in Las Vistas, Los Cristianos, Las Galletas, El Camisón and Troya.

The situation generated in other municipalities in the south of Tenerife, some of whose beaches were affected by the outbreak of a bacterium that forced a temporary closure (specifically El Medano) has led Arona council to take measures to continue guaranteeing the maximum quality of the water In the main beaches most visited by local people and tourists.

The increased tests will be carried out by Canaragua, the company that provides the water service in the municipality. Sampling by this company will take place on the beaches of Las Vistas, Los Cristianos, Las Galletas, El Camisón and Troya and the results will be available on the website of the council with maximum transparency, as is usual.

José Julián Mena explained that “the intention of this group of government is to anticipate and have maximum control over the quality of our waters to prevent situations such as those that have been generated in other municipalities.”

Sr. Mena said that “with this measure, we will continue to guarantee the highest quality of the main beaches ” while remembering that “having constant information will allow us to make the right decisions In record time. “
