School helps two worthy causes
The Association Amisur and the Franciscan Brothers of the White Cross have been the beneficiaries of the 2,300 euros raised by the students of the Institute of Secondary Education (IES) San Miguel through a market and solidarity race, a project organised by this educational centre.
Specifically, Amisur dedicated its part of the donation to the continuity of an occupational workshop, while the Brothers of the White Cross acquired a specialised car for the transportation of medicines.
“The money donated by the educational community has fulfilled its goal of solidarity. It has certainly been an exemplary attitude. Values as important as solidarity are a fundamental piece of society and the action carried out shows that we have a committed youth, “said Nuria Marrero and Antonio Manuel Rodríguez, councillors of social services and treasury, respec-tively.
The meeting at the San Miguel institute was also attended by representatives of both associations, who presented a clay pot and a photograph, among other souvenirs, as another sign of gratitude to the initiative developed by the students of the centre.
