Places being snapped up for La Laguna swim

Applications to take part in the 2017 Bajamar-Punta del Hidalgo swim have already exceeded the 300 level.

The event is on July 29th, offering just 400 places. The deadline to sign up is July 21st.

All interested parties can formalise the process on the web www.deportelagunero.com or face-to-face in the OAD facilities, bearing in mind that the number of registrations available is increasingly limited.

The event has been consolidated in recent years as the second crossing in terms of registered in the regional panorama, behind the El Rio swim in Lanzarote. The test has a course of one kilometre and 900 metres and links two of the main coastal centres in La Laguna.

Last year, the men’s category was won by José Carlos Báez with a time of 30:23. The swimmer of CN Martiánez-Tripto was accompanied on the podium by Betuel González (Nadaditas con Betu, 30:31) and Isaac González (CN Vekgas, 31:03).

Veronica Navarro revalidated her victory in this traditional Laguna test, by notching up a 35:23 record at the finish line. The second position went to Maria Castillo (Nadaditas con Betu, 37:52), who arrived at the fishing shelter of Punta del Hidalgo in front of the swimmer of the CN Martiánez-Tripto, Ana Guimarey (37:52).
