La Orotava gets dressed for spring
La Orotava has asked local people and visitors to collaborate in the local council’s bid to brighten up the town with an army of flowers.
More than 1,000 seasonal flowers are being planted as part of the campaign by the new parks and gardens concession holders, Interjardín.
This includes roses, chrysanthemums, geraniums and begonias, amongst many others, in various locations, flower beds, urns and so on.
In all, 20 different species have been chosen to dress La Orotava for the spring.
Councillor delegate for public services, Felipe David Benítez said Interjardin was making a huge effort but he has called on local people and visitors to do their bit by respecting the environment and street furniture.
After Easter, the council intends to begin a plan for improvement in all green areas of the different urban centres of the municipality.
