Big names expected for Espíritu Triabona as registrations open
Organisers of the Espíritu Triabona 2017 opened the registration period on February 15th at special prices.
The goal is that all participants can begin to prepare their training from now and be in full shape for June 3rd, the date of the race.
Registration, the cost of which will vary from seven to 15 euros, depending on the date of registration, can be done through the web pages www.triabona.com and www.laespiritutriabona.com (by filling in the registration form individually with the personal data and making the payment as indicated on the page with a credit or debit card). Also in a physical way in Base Deportes Salud of Los Cristianos, Las Chafiras, Puerto de la Cruz and La Salud in Santa Cruz.
The deadline for registration will be Monday May 29th for tests of 5 and 10km (over fourteen years) and June 2 for children’s tests of ‘Small Solidarity’ (between three and fourteen years). The lower categories of juvenil, cadete, infantil, alevín, benjamín, prebenjamín and pitufos only pay a euro which will go to Actays – Action and Cure for Tay-Sachs – besides the kilo of nonperishable food to be delivered on the same day of the test. These donations will later be delivered by Granadilla de Abona Red Cross.
Once again, the Triad Spirit 2017 will be a day that combines sport and celebration along its main streets.
The route of the Triabona Spirit is characterised by being very flat and fast, and since 2015 is one of the few circuits in the Canary Islands approved by the RFEA in the distance of 10 km.
The 5km is scheduled to start at 6pm whilst the longer route of 10km will be off at 7pm. Big names from the athletic world from Tenerife and the neighbouring islands are expected.
The Plaza de San Antonio de Padua will be the departure and the official goal for both races and the nerve centre of this great sporting and social party. The test, organised by C.D. Triabona Spirit with the institutional support of the City Council of Granadilla de Abona through the Department of Sports, also organises for that Saturday June 3rd the ‘Baby Run’, a run of crawling for babies between 6 and 15 months of age.
