Countdown to fifth evening solidarity race
More than 150 athletes have already signed up for the V Evening Solidarity Race of Santiago del Teide.
The test will be held on January 21st and registrations are open until January 16th.
It is organised by the local council’s department of sports, headed by Guillermo Évora, and run in collaboration with different entities, hotel complexes and commercial firms. The start time is 7pm.
As every year, the test has a marked solidarity, since for each inscription it is necessary to provide 5kg of non-perishable food that will be delivered at the time of picking up the dorsal and which will be donated to the municipal food bank.
Anyone can take part, federated or not, as long as they are 15 years or more on the day of the race.
The course this year remains the same although for the female category it varies a bit. The male circuit will be 7.5km through the urban centre of Puerto de Santiago, Playa La Arena and Los Gigantes while the female route is the same although of 6.5km as it cuts the descent and demanding climb of the area of La Hondura. The departure and arrival will be in the square of the Vigil of Puerto de Santiago.
Registration will be open until 20:00 hours on January 16 and can only be done online, through the web: www.deportesantiagodelteide.com.
Three categories will be established: Sub25, Senior and Veterans M46 both male and female and medals will be awarded to the top three in each category and the top three in the general and the local will receive trophies.
The delivery of dorsals will be done the same day of the test in the square of La Vigilia, from 17:00 to 18:30 hours.
