Wingate School

This term, the Senior Choir has been developing various techniques and skills, as well as increasing their repertoire

Our next concert will be on Tuesday 20.12.16 when we will be singing a variety of traditional and modern carols to parents and visitors.

Some of our pieces are in unison and some are in two-parts; we are also learning a carol using traditional Latin words from the 14th century. There are several soloists in the Senior Choir and they will have an opportunity to show-case their talents.

Mrs Everitt, Head of Music, said, “The youngsters are very excited about performing their pieces and have worked extremely hard to perform them to a high standard. The harmonies in the two-part material, and the Latin words, have been tricky but there is a lovely sense of achievement now they are ready to be displayed.”

December, time for the Wingate Junior Production with a cast of nearly 100 children.

This year, Snow White and her Seven Dwarfs took to the stage along with Queen Evilynn, her mirror, Mirriam, Dames Dolly & Molly, Muddles, a fairy called Flora and of course Prince Valiant. With bad jokes, slap stick comedy, singing and dancing the show has amazed audiences yet again.
