Help for dogs in Refuge K9
Hi, Linda here. I’m four and a half years old and arrived at K9 earlier this year as, through no fault of my own, my family were not able to have a dog any more. Though I say so myself, I’m a favourite with my people at the refuge. I think it is because I am such a friendly, good-natured girl and love life so much. I am a people-dog and just love to be around them but get on well with most other dogs too.
I share a room at K9 with my best buddy, Tiny. We love our walks, running around and sniffing. I am told I am very intelligent and quick to learn new things. All I know is I specially like to learn when there are treats involved! Our room at the refuge is in a prime spot so we can say hi to all our chums when they come to the yard for dinner. It’s cool but what I really want to have again is my own loving family and to be in a warm and secure home where I can relax and chill sometimes as well as have fun.
Do you have a place in your home and heart for me? People say we rescue dogs are specially grateful to have our second chance and I know that would sure be me. If you would like to meet me, please get in touch with my people at K9 in any of the ways mentioned below.
A Wonderful Night
The annual K9 festive dinner held at Cueva El Campesina in Aldea Blanca was very well attended with 145 people enjoying good food, wine, dancing and excellent entertainment. Guests were, as always, incredibly generous and the event raised well over 1000 euros for our dogs.
Much thanks to: all our supporters who bought tickets and attended the event; all who donated prizes; Holly-wood Mirage for their 7 day studio apartment stay; Showtime Adeje for the 2 person ticket to attend one of their cabaret shows; Aidy Evans and Storm Duo for the fabulous entertainment; Restaurante Cueva El Cam-pesino for the lovely meal; Mikey and Lyn for organising it all (we all know that without you it wouldn’t happen!); and last but far from least to all who brought food and treats for our pupsters who, of course, are what it is all about. They say “thanks for caring about us guys – we really appreciate your support”.
Other Ways To Help
Why not visit us and walk some of our dogs. They love it and you will love it! Come along any day between 10:00 and 13:00
Donate or shop at the K9 shop in Alcala
Pop by with some old blankets, towels and newsp-apers. It gets cold at the refuge on winter nights. Or leads, collars, toys and treats – we always need them!
