Man arrested for inciting Barcelona atrocity
Police in Spain have arrested a 36-year-old man who was plotting to carry out an attack on the lesbian and gay community on the same lines as the Orlando atrocity.
He was found with a 9mm calibre starter gun which, they said, was very similar to a real weapon and uncovered a number of chilling videos and emails threatening to repeat the American shootings.
The suspect, arrested in Mataró in Barcelona, faces up to four years in prison plus a fine of between 600 and 30,000 euros for violating the law against public safety.
The horrific videos, in which the man brandished the gun, was broadcast on the internet and led to several tweets to the police.
In one single month, police have revealed, he posted 31 hate videos on Youtube. Many were officially deleted because of their extreme content.
In one of the videos , he talks about one of the biggest festivals in the LGTBI world held in August in Barcelona.
One of the complaints came from the LGBT community of Madrid.
