FU International Academy Tenerife launches the world’s first Spanish Bootcamp

Eight weeks, one villa, two teachers, ten participants, and 24 hours speaking, listening, writing and dreaming Spanish.

FU International Academy Tenerife, the renowned Spanish school on the Canarian Island of Tenerife, is proud to announce the launch of the world’s first Spanish Bootcamp, which will be held in October 2016 in Tenerife. The Bootcamp (www.spanishbootcamp.net) is a brand new format that provides an intensive, eight-week long Spanish language immersion for people who are serious about achieving complete fluency in Spanish in a short period of time.

“The bootcamp is designed to get you really speaking Spanish – an outcome that is often missing from other full immersion programmes,” said Frank Sellingsloh, director of the FU International Academy Tenerife. “Let’s say you booked an intensive Spanish course for a few weeks where you would go to class for four to six hours a day. You learn a lot but it doesn’t stick, because after leaving the classroom, you don’t typically speak Spanish. This will not happen at the bootcamp.” The Spanish Bootcamp is for ten students in a villa with two teachers and a cook for eight weeks – with absolutely no other language than Spanish allowed. “You will be speaking, listening, writing, and dreaming Spanish,” Frank Sellingsloh added.

At the end of the Bootcamp the participants will reach B2 level and will be able to interact with a degree of fluency and spontaneity that makes regular interaction with native speakers possible without difficulty for either party. The programme enables the student to produce clear, detailed text on a wide range of topics and explain their viewpoint on a topical issue while giving the advantages and disadvantages of various options. In addition, the bootcamp will prepare students to pass the official DELE exam at level B2 that allows students to get access to a university in Spain and to work in Spanish-speaking countries.

FU International has taught Spanish to thousands of students from all over the world since 2000. As of 2004, the school held the accreditation of the Cervantes Institute in Madrid that guarantees the quality of Spanish being taught is of a high standard. In 2016, the Academy became an official Registration and Examination Centre for the DELE (Diplomas of Spanish as a Foreign Language) exam. The teachers that will head the bootcamps are highly qualified, receive regular training by the Cervantes Institute and have at least five years experience in teaching Spanish.

The bootcamp tuition covers a single or double room in a villa or cottage in the countryside, along with lunch and dinner prepared by a cook and airport transfer, transport to the city, to restaurants and more.
