Pool work still on target for end of October
Santa Cruz council says good progress is being made on the major plan to improve and upgrade the municipal swimming pool of Acidalio Lorenzo.
The work will last until the end of October but was deemed vital to bring the facilitie into line with today’s needs and legal re quirements.
The pool is considered to be one of the most important in the Canary Islands but is over 50 years old.
Councillor for sport, Verónica Meseguer said the summer swimming course had been moved to the pool of Quico Cabrera.
She thanked members of the public for their understanding and patience as when reopened, the pool will be wider with more lanes, meet all health regulations and current legislation on accessibility, complete with a pool crane and adapted stainless steel stairs.
