Police in new speed checks
Police in Guía de Isora have been clamping down on speeding motorists.
Local police and the traffic department recently instigated a new campaign in the busiest areas of the municipality.
Checks were particularly carried out in the centres of Piedra Hincada, Varadero and Alcalá.
“We have prioritised surveillance on urban roads, pedestrian crossings and nearby educational centres in order to warn drivers of the risks of exceeding the established limits,” said councillor for security, Ángeles González.
Officers used a vehicle equipped with radar thanks to the collaboration local police have had since 2012 with the DGT.
In this most recent campaign, 340 vehicles were checked.
