A very special treat for every dog at Acción del Sol
Mission accomplished. All 200 dogs at the refuge had a great weekend, thanks to all our supporters of all nationalities joining together for our open weekend where we asked people to come and help us with the dogs.
Every single dog at the refuge, big or small, young and old, over the course of the weekend was duly walked, bathed, brushed, played with and most importantly given some serious loving cuddles and a treat or two.
It was great to see the dogs so happy and having the attention they crave and deserve. Thank you to all who attended and also for the donations of tinned dog food and money put in the collecting tins which will all help towards the running and upkeep of the refuge.
We are always looking for dog walkers or may be just to play and brush some of our many dogs so if you would like to help please do visit us during our open hours.
On a sadder note, we have more than 80 Canarian Podencos at the refuge that are all looking for new homes. They do make lovely pets and are very affectionate but unfortunately they are often over-looked with people looking to adopt a dog. If you are interested in these dogs please do pay us a visit.
Please do call the refuge on 922778630 if you can help in any way or visit Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday afternoons from 14.00-17.00pm and Saturdays 13.00- 16.00. We are situated directly under the Eolica Parque exit 52 on the TF1 north bound.
Head for the giant windmills and we are the buildings on the right hand side or email the refuge at firstname.lastname@example.org or visit our Facebook page at action tier Accion del SOL.
