Canary SUC links up with students in training programme
The Canary Urgency Service is continuing to educate young people about emergency care and the vital 1-1-2 service.
Students from Los Gladiolos in Santa Cruz completed their training course by visiting the SUC headquarters in the city.
They were able to see the medical ambulances as well as the rapid intervention vehicle and the mobile disaster unit.
The students have been involved in training issues for three months in various SUC units across the islands.
They have got to know how the SUC works and how it responds to emergencies in homes and on the streets as they have often accompanied the personnel on their call-outs.
They have also been integrated into the shifts in the 1-1-2 control room which co-ordinates rescue efforts on the ground and in the air.
The partnership between the service and the Ministry of Education was started in 2010 and has proved a great success.
