Costa Adeje so proud to be flying five Blue Flags
Five “Blue Flags” are currently flying in Costa Adeje, the most of any municipality in the province of Santa Cruz de Tenerife.
Adeje council is very proud to have achieved the internationally-known award for Troya I and II, Fañabé, El Duque and Torviscas.
Councillor for beaches, Andrés Pérez Ramos recently delivered the flags to the concessionary companies and praised them for all the work carried out and the standards not only achieved but maintained as well.
The flags are awarded by the Association of Environmental and Consumer Education after stringent inspections and adherance to various critera, such as cleanliness, life guards, environmental management, education and water quality.
“Adeje council is committed to maintaining these standards of excellence in our destination because the beaches are part of our appeal,” he said.
Adeje is closely linked to quality. One example is the beach of Troy I and II which has received 19 flags during its history and are therefore part of the identity of the municipality.
