Alert over arrival in Spain of “flakka” party drug
The new party drug “Flakka” appears to have arrived in Spain, causing widespread alarm as it can kill.
Two young Brits were taken to hospital in Mallorca after taking the drug which is linked to bizarre behaviour and hallucinations.
Doctors confirmed that one of the holidaymakers definitely had traces in his system of the dangerous synthetic drug which has recently caused havoc in America. One man in Florida was caught trying to have sex with a tree after running naked through the streets. Another impaled himself on a fence outside a police station in Fort Lauderdale.
Flakka can cause bizarre and violent reactions when taken, as well as hallucinations.
The two Brits were ad-mitted to Son Espases in Palma de Mallorca. One of them was said to have been partying for 18 hours and was completely disorientated.
The drug is said to be available in Magaluf for less than five euros and has been linked to episodes of balconing.
