Vile gang created offensive songs about the disabled
Members of a vile gang who composed and broadcast offensive songs threatening to kill the disabled have been arrested by the police.
Four young men belonging to a so-called “musical group” used a well-known website to publish at least 30 videos.
They were arrested in Madrid, Pontevedra and Alicante as part of a National Police operation against hate crimes.
Officers said the songs had “offensive, discriminatory and xenophobic” themes which verbally abused people with different disabilities and aimed death threats at them.
An official complaint was lodged to the police by the organisation for the disabled, ONCE. Initial investigations showed the videos also had offensive images and en-couraged physical aggression and inhuman treatment.
Investigators were able to identify the members of the band, composers and performers of the songs, as well as those responsible for posting the videos.
The four arrested are aged 21, 23, 26 and 37 and face prosecution for a crime of incitement to hatred and violence.
The category of hate crime relates threats of injuries, sexual abuse, mild harassment, sexual assault, slander and racist, xenophobic and intolerant acts.
