Modern look for emblematic tapas route

Tenerife’s oldest and pioneering tapas route is back in style. Granadilla’s “‘Mándate una tapa” is being held for the seventh time, having started on November 15th and continuing until December 15th.

That gives you plenty of time to plan a visit as the bars and restaurants taking part are not just in Granadilla town but also in San Isidro, El Médano, Los Abrigos and Charco del Pino.

Moving with the times, the tapas route has a number of new features, as well as its own website and a mobile app.

In total, there are 36 establishments taking part, offering tapas at 2.50 euros a dish, inclusive of a glass of wine, water or a beer. New features include two desserts for two euros and four cocktails for three euros.

The initiative is organised by Granadilla council’s employment and local development departments and was launched by local councillor, Esteban González and on behalf of Tenerife Cabildo, Efrain Medina.

Granadilla is very proud of the tapas route, considering it an emblem of the municipality and the pioneer of many other ventures across the island.

“It’s a great showcase and a challenge for the best cuisine in town,” said Esteban González.

There was also a big thank you for everyone who is taking part in the route. They are: El Horno(Cruz de Tea); Las Fuentes and Pedro (Charco del Pino); Casino, Tierras del Sur and Asador Velázquez (Granadilla); Virxe da Barca, El Tankito, Almogrote and Reina Sofía (San Isidro); El Ancla, Calima Café, El Rinconcito, Veinte. 04 Surf Café, El Naúfrago, El Braserito, El Lagar (restaurante), Caballo Blanco, Pub Magma Café, la Lata del Gofio, Imperio del Pintxo, Goiter, Gelatería Demaestri, Locomotor, Maresía, Leo, Tasca Ona, Pelinor Super Pollo, El Templete and El Mentiroso (El Médano) and Yaiday´s, Felixmar, Tito, Tasquita del Puerto, Vistamar and Yaisara (Los Abrigos).

If you vote for your favourite, you could win a tablet, courtesy of CRI San Isidro. There will also be prizes and diplomas for the top three establishments. In addition, visitors who complete the special passports will go into a draw for prizes, including gifts from the participating restaurants.
