Arrests for people trafficking
Several people have been arrested in Gran Canaria for alleged sexual exploitation.
The operation was confirmed by Government delegate, María del Carmen Hernández Bento who could only give limited information as the investigation is still open.
Police in Las Palmas carried out a number of raids in connection with suspected illegal immigration activities.
Those arrested are said to be of African origin and were living in the area of El Doctoral de Santa Lucía de Tirajana which is in the southeast of the island.
The Government delegate said it was to do with the illegal immigration and trafficking of women. National Police are also involved in the ongoing enquiries.
