San Eugenio project now complete
Improvement works to an area of San Eugenio have been completed, Arona Council has announced.
The area around Aqualand has been the subject of major renovation and it is hoped visitors will notice a big difference to the environment.
More car-parking has also been provided, together with a better pathway.
The work lasted 18 months and involved two secondments from the Canary Employment Service. The total cost of the improvements was 300,000 euros.
There are now 80 car parking spaces available, the surface has been reconditioned, landscaping improved, new modern street furniture placed and better lighting. The project has also taken into account the needs of people with disabilities.
Councillor for municipal services, Gonzalo Delgado Días said they placed a high value on this location and he hoped the work would prove a benefit to pedestrians, motorists and cyclists. The council would now continue projects in other parts of the municipality.
