Plaza facelift will have second phase
The popular central plaza in El Médano has taken on a new look without losing its identity.
The first phase of a two-part project is now complete and the Mayor, Jaime González Cejas says he hopes local people and visitors will applaud the work. It has taken about two months to complete in preparation for the busy summer season and will restart again in the last quarter of this year. At no time will the square have to close, he has stressed.
The plan has improved and cleaned up the plaza but has not altered its appearance as Granadilla Council was aware of what a popular place this is for meeting up and for holding entertainments.
The Mayor said he hoped the work would enhance the appeal of El Médano and therefore bring extra trade to the area.
